Feliz Ano Novo!!!! Happy New Year!!!

Feliz Ano Novo!! Happy New Year!!                                                            Jan. 4, 2016

So....Here´s the news you´ve all been waiting for! My companion is from Portugal. Her name is Sister Caleira, and she is absolutely the sweetest person ever!!

She has a testimony that is so sweet and pure, and she is a lot like me in the way that she wants to work as hard as possible to have at least one baptism this transfer! I can honestly say that from how hard we have been working, we are going to exceed this goal with the Lord´s help.

Sister Caleira speaks Portuguese, but it´s a bit different--her accent is really different (a bit more nasally) than that of brasilians´, but she is the cutest girl ever!!

This past week, I was faced with a bit of a shock when I received this calling, and I was thinking about how unqualified I was for it--how young I was in the mission to have such a grand responsibility placed on my shoulders, and I can honestly tell you that what has been getting me through each and every day is personal prayer, and your prayers and fasts!

Thank you so much for strengthening me by turning to the Lord in my behalf. To me, there is no better way to show your love for someone than to turn first to the Lord in sincere prayer for them.
I have literally been strengthened in this calling, and from my companion. She is truly a blessing in my life because she has such a great desire to be obedient, to work hard, and reach our goal to find those are who are truly God´s elect and are ready to enter into the waters of baptism.

Yesterday morning was such a relief for me because two of our investigators--Almerinda, and her daughter, Valeria--a new investigator-- woke up at 7:00 yesterday morning, and were waiting in front of their house at 8:30 for us to walk with them to Church. They are absolutely the sweetest people ever, and Almerinda, who is about 60 years old, always offers us some food or drink when we visit her. We are going to teach Almerinda and Valeria again this Saturday with some members that are around their age, and hopefully all will go well!! Pray that they will be able to receive an answer to their prayers that the Book of Mormon is true!! Valeria has been reading the Book of Mormon, but Almerinda still needs to read by herself, so pray that she can complete her commitment to read this week!!
As for other investigators, we taught Wesley yesterday about the Restoration, and we think that he feels a lot of pressure from his family to be baptized in the church, but we are going to teach him this next Sunday and follow up with him about the Book of Mormon and his response. Unfortunately, he didn´t go to Church yesterday because his whole family was sick.
As for Robson, the husband of Irma Valmiria, he went to Church yesterday, and we had a family night with him and his family recently where we played a game in which each person of the family had to draw a name from a bucket, and say something nice about that person whose name they drew. I testified about you all, and about the importance of you all in my life, and I can tell that this game strengthened their family.

Well, I'm out of time, but just want to say I love you and appreciate your prayers!

Sis. Harris
